ADMISSION

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

  1. A student seeking admission for FY B.Com class must have to present himself/herself with an application in the prescribed form duly filled and signed by him/her and his/her parents/guardians for an interview along with following documents:­

    i)  H.S.S.C Marklist in original along with two xerox copies.
    ii) School Leaving Certificate in original with one xerox copy.
    iii) Eight copies of recent (frontal view) passport size photographs.

  2. No admission shall be regarded as duly granted unless it is granted by the Principal and the necessary fees have been received by the college along with required documents.
  3. All admissions are valid only for the academic year and are required to be renewed by application in the prescribed 
    form for every subsequent year of the study in the College.
  4. All the admissions are provisional until all the necessary Certificates such as the final eligibility certificate, transference Eligibility Certificate,Transference Certificate, etc. are submitted to the College.
  5. The documents such as Leaving Certificate, Migration Certificate, are not returned, if their admissions to the Programmes are confirmed, though they leave the College before completion of the course.
  6. Students belonging to other colleges affiliated to Goa University will be admitted provisionally pending the receipt of their Transference Certificates from the college previously attended.
  7. The Principal of the College will have the full authority to refuse admission to a student for the Second Year or the third year Programme, depending upon the character and general conduct of the student during the previous year or years. The decision of the Principal will be final and binding.

ELIGIBILITY FOR B.COM

OC-45.2.2: Eligibility for admission to Semester I & II (in the first year) B.Com. Programme.

  1. To be eligible for admission to the Semester-I of the Three Years integrated Programme leading to the degree of Bachelor of Commerce, the candidate should have passed(i) the Higher Secondary Certificate(Std. XII)examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in the Commerce stream, OR (ii) the Higher Secondary School Certificate(Std. XII) Examination in the Vocational stream in the subjects notified by the University,ubder this clause, from time to time, OR (ii)the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XII) Examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in the Vocational stream in the subjects notified by the University, under this clause, from time to time, OR (iii) the Std XII (commerce) or similar examination of another body equivalent to Goa Board of Secondary and higher Secondary Education, Goa and recognized as such by Goa University.
  2. A candidate not covered under any of the above categories but desirious of seeking admission to the said Programme may apply to the college. However, the registrar along with Dean of concerned Faculty and Chaiperson(s) of Board(s) of Studies of concerned subjects shall decide the eligibility.
  3. A candidate admitted for Semester-I shall be deemed eligible for admission to Semester-II.
  4. A candidate migrating from another University and desirous of direct admission to Semester-II may be considered for admission provided he/she has cleared/passed First Term/Semester-I examination of that University with those subjects for which admission is sought and undertakes to successfully complete the other compulsory papers of Semester-I

OC-45.2.4: Eligibility for admission to Semester-III and/or Semester-IV(in the second year) of B.com.Programme:

  1. A candidate who has been declared passed in Semester-I and Semester-II shall be eligible for admission to Semester-III.
  2. A candidate migrating from any other recognized University may be considered for admission to Semester-III of the B.A.//B.com./B.Sc. provided: (a) he/she has passed the First year B.A./BCom./B.Sc.examination in all subjects from that University, (b) he/she had offered at the First year the same Subjects as prescribed under major category available under the scheme of this University, (c) he/she undertakes to successfully complete the compulsory Information Technology/Environment Studies syllabus prescribed by this University for Semester-I &II, if he/she has not already done so in the previous University. Result of Semester IV examination shall be withheld if the candidate fails to fulfill this undertaking.
  3. A candidate admitted for Semester-III shall be deemed eligible for admission to Semester-IV.
  4. A candidate from another recognized University may be considered for direct admission to Semester IV provided he/she fulfills the conditions in (a),(b) and (c) at (C) above and, in addition ,has passed/cleared Semester-III/First Term examination of the Second year B,A./B.Com./B.sc. of that University. However, the result of Semester IV shall be withheld if the candidate does not fulfill these conditions.
  5. According to Goa University circular No. GU/ 1/AC/2010/98 dt. 16/6/2010 Students with Polytechnic Diploma in Office Management Practices (Vocational Stream) are eligible to register for IIIrd Semester (Second Year) of B.com Programme.


OC-45.2.5: Eligibility for admission to Semester-V(in the third year)B.Com.Programme:

  1. A candidate who has been declared passed in Semester-I to Semester-IV examination shall be eligible for admission to Semester-V
  2. A candidate admitted for Semester-V shall be deemed eligible for admission to Semester-VI.
  3. A candidate migrating from any other recognized University may be considered for admission to Semester-V of the B.A./B.com./B.Sc. Programme provided: (a) he/she has passed the second Year B.A./B.Com./B.Sc.Examination in all subjects from that University, and (b) he/she had offered at the Second Year the same subjects as prescribed under Major category available under the scheme of this University. A candidate fulfilling these conditions shall be eligible for admission to only Semester-V.


OC-45.2.6: Eligibility for admission to Semester-VI (in the third year) B.Com.Programme:

  1. A candidate already admitted for Semester-V shall be deemed eligible for admission to Semester-VI
  2. Direct admission to Semester-VI shall not be permitted.

OC-45.2.7: Class strength:

Maximum number of students in a class/division shall not exceed sixty.

OC-45.3: Programme Structure:

The  Programme structure for the three  year degree Programme in B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. is given below. Each instructional period mentioned therein shall be of 45 minutes duration.


ELIGIBILITY FOR M.COM

  1. The candidate must pass the Bachelor in Commerce examination with minimum of 40% aggregate. The total number of seats is 40. The number of reserved seats will be as per Goa University guidelines,and will be intimated subsequently.  Candidate will be admitted strictly on merit basis.
  2. The Programme structure, Grading and the Scheme of Examination will be as stipulated by the University and will be announced subsequently by the College.
