Orientation-cum-Workshop on T.Y.B.Com. Projects at Narayan Zantye College of Commerce

An Orientation-cum-Workshop on T.Y.B.Com. Projects was organized on 21st August 2025 by the College for the T.Y.B.Com students. The session was conducted in collaboration with the Goa State Research Foundation. Prof. Savio P. Falleiro, Managing Director, Goa State Research Foundation was the  Resource Person.

Discipline, professional approach and vision to conduct quality research is the need of the hour said Prof. Falleiro. He  stated that  writing good  project reports will help in making a career after  PG or  Post UG, develop minimum scientific writing skills and  help to apply for Projects/Fellowships in addition to securing good grade in examination.

Further he  explained the steps of project study, including selecting a suitable topic, conducting literature search and review, data gathering through Field/Library/Laboratory Work  and writing the project report.

He cited reputed Journals and urged  the students to get their projects published. He also mentioned that the Government of Goa funds quality research proposals so that we address socio-economic challenges.

Principal Prof. Dr. Rajendra Kumbharjuvenkar  in his opening remarks lauded the initiative taken by the  Goa State Research Foundation in promoting research culture in the state. He emphasized that research is increasingly gaining significance not only in academics but also in industry and the economy at large. Therefore, researchers are expected to propose concrete solutions to the pressing problems faced by society.

The program began with a welcome and introduction of the resource person by  Dr. Pravin Sawant.

Miss Madhavi Parab and Mr. Joshua Mascarenhas compered the program under the guidance of Asst.Prof. Mrs. Krupa Mayenkar.

 Vice-Principal Dr. Rajesh Amonkar  and teaching staff attended the workshop.Non-teaching staff  provided support for the smooth conduct of the workshop.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Shweta Borkar, Project Coordinator. Total 108 T.Y.B.Com.students  and twelve faculty members participated in the workshop.
